The I Do Workshop - Wedding Planning Your Way

The less stressful approach to planning your wedding on your own!

Why The I Do Workshop?

Your wedding will be likely the most expensive party you will throw and planning is key. Wedding planners plan wedding after wedding and consulting with them will help you make cost effective decisions. If you decided to plan your wedding on your own, this workshop will show you how to plan like a pro saving you time, money and keeping your stress level down, all at the fraction of the cost of hiring a certified wedding planner.

Do I need to register?
Yes, space is limited. Registration for each class closes 30 days before class begins (see class schedule below). Registration is quick (we only ask for your name, email and phone number). Once you submit your registration, we will send you an email confirmation with instructions on what to bring to your specific class and payment instructions. If your class is closed, we will let you know when your next class is available.

If I sign up for all 4 classes, do I have to take the classes in order?
No, classes are held every Thursday evening and you can start when you want and take classes based on your schedule. You also do not have to take classes in any particular order.

What will be covered?

Class A: Budgeting, Guest List, Etiquette and Checklists
Using local budget stats, we show you how to put together a realistic wedding budget helping you to know how many guests to invite and identify your wedding priorities. We also review etiquette, your to do lists and bridal party responsibilities. All attendees will have access to a Dropbox folder where you can download your editable budget template, guest list and seating chart templates, bridal party checklists and to do lists.

Class B: Finding Your Vendors
Finding the right vendors is key in throwing a successful event. We go over the key questions to ask specific vendors and provide you with our interviewing forms so you can make an informed decision. We also help identify which type of vendor matches your personality, style and priorities. All attendees will have access to a Dropbox folder to download and print additional forms for each vendor you interview.

Class C: Décor, Trends and DIY Secrets
Making your wedding uniquely you is the fun part of planning! We go through current design trends, help you determine your style and share our DIY secrets. In your Dropbox folder you will have access to the resources you need to properly select linens, fold napkins, figure out cake sizes and more. Each class will feature one DIY project.

Class D: The Day of – Execution!
You physically are not able to be in two places at the same time. This class will show you how to develop a fully integrated day of master timeline and set up plan for your volunteers to execute. You will leave this class with a draft timeline which later you can finalize with your vendors and volunteers. After the class, you will be able to download our day of coordination checklist, set up plan, reception and ceremony worksheets and other useful planning documents.

Virtual Planning Bonus
Sign up for the entire workshop and receive up to six month’s access to our online planning portal to help you stay organized, manage your budget and receive monthly To Do lists via email. You will also be scheduled for two (2) one-hour planning sessions via conference call with a certified wedding planner (first call takes place 1-2 weeks after you complete the workshop and the second call will be 4-6 weeks before your wedding day).

How much?
Classes are $40 per class or $140 for the entire workshop (4 classes). If you register for all 4 classes, you will receive up to 6 months of virtual planning free (see above). Your class fee is due when you attend your class (or first class if you are signed up for all 4 classes). Major Credit Cards are accepted and checks/money orders should be made payable to the City of St. Cloud.

May I bring my significant other, maid of honor or my mother?
